Default Who else makes Boxter caliper brackets??

Having some problems with the 034 designed ones that I have.

I'm sending mine back (and, I had to have one replaced already). IMHO the helicoil design is a bad idea. It's not practical for use, especially if you have to remove the caliper and put it back on, which I had to do. Maybe you are supposed to replace the hardware each time?

Who else makes these???

I know BIRA Is out of business and I need a pair ASAP!

Default I think so, web page says....

"BIRA is not accepting new membership applications at this time.", and their site hasn't been updated since like 1999.

So, it's a bad sign in my book.

If you have other information, let me know. I'll be glad to order them, but I can't wait around for them to "produce them".

Default If you're having a problem, give us a ring.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the design. It's used literally on thousands of caliper brackets like these by dozens of companies. If there's something up with yours in particular please send them back and we'll take a look at them.

We've been selling brackets with these exact same inserts for years and have never had one failure or problem with them. If they're installed properly. If somehow the insert was improperly installed during manufacturing we'll fix it for you ASAP.

Default I thought you were just threading the aluminum. I suggested steel inserts and you said they weren't

necessary. When did this story change?

Default They're helicoiling, IIRC.

There is another solution.

E-mail me, and I'll tell you.

Default "We've been selling brackets with these exact same inserts". Insert not = helicoil. Insert =

threaded insert like TimeSert. See link below.

I know Helicoil calls their product an "insert" but to me, it is not.

http://www.timesert.com/</a
