Why is the 1993 audi s4 quattro so heavy?

And that thing is stripped out, caged, plexiglass, big brakes, worked over engine + Stromung & side pipe exhaust.
The only way to get rid of more weight would be to replace the sheet metal body panels with CF.

The 93 s4 is a larger car and has a turbo while the 95 90q is smaller without a turbo. Seems to make sense!
Now, Should I sell my 90q and drive 120 miles to buy the s4 because it seemingly has .5 inches more of head room? I am 6'10" and it is dangerous having to open the moonroof to sit comfortably in my 90q.
