15-00 - Adaptation Limit (Add) Not Reached
Got a CEL today. Car is running well, with no drivability issues. Boosts to 24 PSI regularly. The code is
00561 - Mixture Adaptation
15-00 - Adaptation Limit (Add) Not Reached
Any thoughts? Vacuum leak? MAF? O2?
There are (Add) and (Mul) codes listed in the Bentley. Is one the O2 trim and one the MAF base? Does "not reached" (cf "exceeded") mean the lean or rich end of the range?
My fuel economy has been on the low side lately, but not terrible (17-18 MPG instead of 18-19). I was blaming it on the new E10 fuel. Ignition system seems fine. Fuel pump is only a few weeks old. I think I may have seen this CEL with the old pump but never hooked up the VAG-COM to read it.

Boost leak or vacuum leak?
It seems to me that a boost leak (metered air escaping) would cause rich running and a vacuum leak (unmetered air entering) would cause a lean condition. Does that sound right?
The check light illuminated at low load, i.e. not boost. So that makes me thing it's vacuum related. But I'm hoping to get more info on interpreting the code.

well once you boost above 1 bar it becomes a boost leak doesnt it?
Point is there is a hole in the air intake somewhere.
The error code is basically saying that the Air fuel ratio is not within the limits of the map. at least thats how I understand it
like I said every time I have had this code its been an intake air leak but it could also be a bad O2 sensor or a fuel supply problem.
the easiest to check is the Air so I figure thats a good place to start.
If you have vag-com you can check the lamda sensor reading in the meas blocks it should normally read about 1 but can vary a little but im not to sure what the max and min are.
If I were to guess I would say its about .96 and 1.1

Actually I take it back - it might not be a Vacuum line leak
For example a leaking vacuum line to the FPR will make it rich at idle but extremely lean under boost.
It might be a post Turbo leak e.g. after MAF and Turbo, causing metered air to exit the system, leaving a rich mix.
