Default 3" turbo back exhaust

Is the Stromung exhaust (3" turbo back) the best option for these cars? What type of HP gains can be expected with an RS2 setup?

Default None...from what I have heard

but you do save weight and you get a killer note when you wind it out.

Default It wont add hp but will free some up....

maybe 20whp at best on a RS2 spec car.

Default Correction dyno'd before and after in Vancouver area..

Dave's post jogged memory!

To my knowledge the S car community in Vancouver have dyno'd descrete HP gains due to exhaust alone.

Results were counter intuitive.

I am going Dyno a stock S6 BEFORE AND AFTER to measure this once and for all. Fall 2006 timeframe.

Agreed with comments below this would be more beneficial on RS2 or Garrett equipped S cars.

however.. I have never measured it!

Default That was a uncontrolled test(s) with many variables

The only way to tell for sure is to do a test before and after with the exact same setup (software, injectors, etc.)

Default Link to our Vancouver club dyno results. Rob S.'s RS2'd car had the Stromung.

Sounded great. Sean D.'s RS2'd car has a stock stock exhaust and was on pump gas like Rob but made almost 30 Whp more. Different software. Made more than me running 9L Toluene in 80 L tank.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/110974.phtml</a

Agree. You made 29 whp more than Rob S with the Stromung.

Default I think the main difference in that dyno day came down to software

Rob: RS2 turbo, RS2 EM, MRC S/W, Delphi Injectors, stock MAF, Stromung, 268 WHP

Me: RS2 turbo, RS2 EM, Dahlback (MTM) S/W, RS2 injectors, RS2 MAF, stock exhaust, 94 octane pump, 297 WHP

Gabriel: stock turbo, MRC, 208 WHP

Dave: Same as me, but Pastore S/W (aka TS Tuning) with toluene, 317 WHP.
