Well, you got part of it right. The five spoke 8 x 16 wheels are forged and were made by FUCHS (thats "*****" fur dem nicht Deutsche sprecken types). They were used on the 92, 93 and 94 S4's (the other options were six spoke 7.5 x 15 wheels by Speedline (the winter package wheel), and, in Europe the ten spoke "Bolero" wheels). The early model run 1995 S6's also used the 5 spoke 8 x 16 wheel (and the four spoke steering wheels) until the 6 spoke 16" Avus wheels came into production (and the three spoke sport steering wheels hit the Hans and Claus parts bins) (These were "running" model year changes). By 1996 (or 95.5 in the States), all the S6's were likely equipped with the 6 spoke Avus wheels and the three spoke steering wheels.
Hope that helps to clarify things (I don't know where the RONAL myth came from but it is popular - but wrong).

Don't lead me to a link that has somebody (Jimmy Pribble) typing a name (who says Jimmy is always 100% correct??) I have lots of info that says FUCHS was the supplier. Show me a digital photo with both the wheel number part number and RONAL cast in the wheel and I will believe.
