that's what i've figured out too
cable length only.. the sensor it's up and running
however i'm not getting the knock sensor error code anymore but...now the funny part...i have unplugged the fuse to reset the ECU codes and.... surprise...after driving the car to work i've "scanned" the codes again using the ECU dash light...
i'm getting faults for all fuel injectors
waste gate - N75
idle stabilizer valve - N71
and the purge valve - N80
..all of them combined will justify the way the car jerks and struggle to accelerate...
i'm kind of confused and i don't understand why these codes weren't showing with the scan tool and after i've checked them with the check light engine before resetting the ECU faults ....

Don't know about why the codes didn't show up before (or not) but I can tell you that the list of items you give that now have "faults" all are powered off the same pin 31/87A in the J17 Fuel Pump Relay as shown in the diagram below. You might want to check out this J17 Fuel Pump Relay info.

You are placing too much emphasis on the DTCs. What you are missing is the recommended repair actions recommended in the repair manual. I can guarantee the first step is not to replace the sensor listed in the fault code. Most of the time this is just a hint as to what the underlying problem is.

The one you show, 8A0951253B, is no longer available as of Dec 19997. It was superceded by the much more common (now) 4D0951253. See if you can borrow one of these later ones and try to see if that clears your issues (after you clear the codes - again).

cleared up the codes again while having the relay out, put it back and took the car for a spin , all i'm getting is the rpm sensor which is normal as i found while the engine is not started up. i've started up the engine and try to retrieve the codes while the engine is running, it looked like injector code again - 44xx i can't remember , i've stopped the car and prepare to write down the codes again , ignition on only - again just the rpm sensor , nothing else ...
not to sure where from to borrow that relay..any suggestion when i can order it and how much it may be?
thank you!

It *might* actually be an injector problem. Here is a link to a new Fuel Pump relay:

thank you,
i found a few postings on ebay too..
quick question regarding the Bypass valve
i use to have a 92 Legacy turbo with an adjustable "blow off" valve -when releasing the gas pedal at over 3500 rpms i was getting a strong "puff" from the valve , on the S6 when releasing the pedal i can hear the valve but is more like short "puffs" at high frequency for a few sec. 2, 3 maybe or even less ... is it normal or sounds like a broken valve?
i will also try tomorrow to check the Wastegate valve which i didn't got to yet..
