Default 993TT and 993 non-turbo FRONT calipers are not the same thing

The 993 non-turbo FRONT caliper is the same as the 993tt REAR caliper. The 993 has a much smaller caliper and pad than the 993tt up front. I'm not sure if the mounting bolt spacing is the same on both calipers or not. If it is the same you could potentially save a little bit buying the caliper and a ton on the pads ($30 vs $130), but you will not get the same performance.

Default to add, IIRC a 993 caliper is axial mount, whereas the 993TT is radial (or vise versa)

I always forget which style is Axial and which is Radial...

Not that one style can't be used... koupekrazy has the 'other' mounting style caliper on his S4. What it requires is that you make your own bracket though, taking into consideration how the caliper is to be oriented against the rotor; i.e. not bolt on

nope, both mount the same. 928 GTS calipers were Big Red size but mount differently, IIRC.

Default 928GTS aka big black are the same as 993tt aka big red except for color and

the cross-over tube and bleeder nipples are reversed. Both mount in exactly the same way.

You may be right. I am not 100% sure. There were some calipers that mounted axially though.
