Default Air Conditioner making a funny sound
When I turned on the air in my car today it started to make a chatter sound. The sound goes away when I shut off the air, so I'm thinking it has something to do with the compressor. I had a look at it (as best I could), and nothing appears loose, the belt looks good, and the there doesn't appear to be any woble from the pulley. Any thoughts? Is this a sign of the compressor going?

A/C compressor clutch..mine just went out...check out Blau for replacment

Default I have same issue...........
How easy or hard is it to replace the clutch.
The system doesnt need to be opened does it?

How do you know if it is just the clutch? My A/C sounds like a box of rocks.

Default Shrapnel..look for metal shavings around the clutch....
Guess we are going to replace both the clutch AND the compressor..since both are original.
