AntiLock Strangeness

I was driving around town in traffic today and twice when approaching a light and rolling to a stop with the brake very lightly depressed I felt few quick pulses in the brake pedal like the anti-lock was activating. When I started up again the Anti-Lock off light came on. The light sould not go out until I stopped an shut off the car. If I stopped and restarted the car the light would go out and stay out unless I had another of those slow rolling stops.
This has happened 2 other times in the last 2,000 miles. Always around town after a slow stop at a traffic light.
Any ideas?

It may be true, but I thought I seated them fully. Also, the first two times this happened was before I started the wheel bearing replacements.

I had that exact problem. It turned out to be the notches on the CV joints that the ABS sensors read. One side had a couple chips, the other side had one tooth completely chipped off and missing. To solve the problem I had to replace both front CV joints. Maybe if you had a one of those optical medical instruments you could pull the ABS sensor out and look in at the CV joints to see if the notches are in tact or not.
see the pic below. This is what they looked like. Followed by a pic of a new CV joint.
