I am half tempted, after reading their drive shaft trouble shooting guide I think the whining noise I am hearing in the rain is the bearing screaming for help

you're better off buying the BMW unit and having it welded on to the original bracket.

Just replaced mine a little earlier this week. The clicking noise and driveline slack is gone.
1. Center support bearing is a BMW part 26121227469
The C/V joint was a Porsche part 92333203200
About $130 for the parts.
2. Another option:
Powertrain Industries Center Support
Part Number 2580-60
Available from Drivelines-NW About$195.00
