Boost guage reading "zero," yet performance seems to be unaffected

Vacuum leak? I've always believed that boost pressure would be affected by a vacuum leak. The guage remains at zero, yet there doesn't seem to be any obvious lack of power. Additionally, the "check engine" light illuminated at start-up and stayed lit for a couple of minutes.
I replaced all hoses with Samco units fastened with constant-torque clamps and replaced the stock BPV with a Hyperboost several weeks ago... but still, that shouldn't have anything to do with my boost guage not functioning. Could this be a slight vacuum leak? I searched the forum archives, but virtually everything I found suggested that I would also be experiencing power loss... which doesn't seem to have occured in my case. I mean, I suppose with 280HP you could lose 10 or 15HP and not notice, if you're not always mashing the throttle, which I rarely do.

..and check the opposite end this weekend, when I have more free time.
Would this leak have caused the "check engine" light to illuminate?

If I had more free time, I'd tackle the problem immediately..
Ah, the pitfalls of working full-time while going to school full-time.
Thanks again!
