Default Bosch 005 fuel pump for 185,88usd's!

Mr VR Life, can I use this FP with the GT3071? I have an Adjustable FPR, an A/F gauge and a FP gauge to assure propper tunning. This FP is much cheaper than the 044(288 usd's).
"Muchas gracias" to Dave F.

Default Bargain - good idea!

That sounds like my setup. I am running 005 on my GT3071R and it flows more than enough, I'm still *too* rich on the high end.

But be careful of using Adjustable FPR, it can really only be safely used to add fuel. The ECU can only adapt so far. When used to lean the mix all over, the software detects that it is maxing out injectors at the high end, and will complain (fault code &amp; CEL)<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/108966.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/108966.phtml</a</li></ul>

Default Thanks, I just ordered it!

The local Bosch dealer is fantastic on fastness and on big discounts!! By the other side, I also ordered the V8 FP cradle(33,05^ = 39,79 usd's) and the V8 FP strainer(30,32^ = 36,65 uds's) at the Audi dealer wich will take 2/3 weeks to arrive... I'm starting to get used! So, at the end I'm spending 262,36usd's on the FP mod, not bad. What's your oppinion about how will my actual software deal with this turbo? I know you had a lot of issues...

Default To install: Leave the V8 basket-strainer dettached. Insert the FP from the bottom-up,

push up all the way and then attach the bottom-strainer. No hacking, cutting or clamps are needed. It's a PERFECT fit if you do it right ;-)

You will need a banjo to connect it to the fuel line - I got one from 034 but it's the wrong size 8mm, need 10mm, had to replace the entire line with thinner hose :-(

Be prepared the FP is very noisy, sounds like hissing ...

What software are you planning on using ?

I've been working on/off with Mihnea to tweak the MRC software, and it's making progress ... very slowly. But I've been plagued by misfires / cut-outs that seems to be knock-control related.

One thing that I don't think is s/w related : I'm dissapointed with the top end of the Turbo, it's a *biotch* around town, but on the highway it's much less potent. I need more flow.

Default Re: To install: Leave the V8 basket-strainer dettached. Insert the FP from the bottom-up,

By your explanation seems that I won't have any issues on assembling it!!
I can buy the 10mm banjo at a local store(believe me, they have everything related to hoses, fittings, connectors, etc).
About the sofware I'll use my MRC's RS2 one... I'll wait for you and Mihnea to come up with a GREAT solution, I think I'll let the "dirty" job for you! Eheheh
Maybe the misfires are related to poor gasoline that cause knocking. Here at the gas stations they only sell 95oct and 98oct, so I supose I won't be having that issue.
Hey, one more question; do I really need to mount a MBC?

Default Hmmm ... You want to use MRC with 3071 ? Mihnea are you there ?

Yes it fits snugly but you will have to push hard to get the FP all the way up into the upper basket

Yes you need an MBC in parallel - especially on RS2 software (which is what I started with)

I don't know for sure if it is a mis-fire or ECU S/w fueling cut-out, or really some bizarre sensor cut-out issues. Unlike a mis-fire (fuel doesn't get burned) the A/F's indicate a lean condition during the cut-out spikes.

I have tried various things to diagnose the problem including disconnecting the knock sensors, and filling with 100 octane.

100 octane did not help mis-fire/cut-out.
Disconnecting the knock sensors did help. So I'm replacing them and we shall see.

Yes, I am doing the hard work of road-testing, dyno &amp; logging ... Mihnea is doing the hard coding.

It's already much better than when we started, A/F's are good and timing is way stronger ;-)

Default During my low boost issue(due to my old WG spring)...

...I replaced my knock sensors just to be sure, but found out that the old ones were ok. You can't disconnect them, otherwise ECU will go limp. E-mail me your adress, that I will offer you my old ones.

Default You can disconnect and run without them for short periods before the ECU goes limp

Thanks for the offer but I already have a set on the way so no joy there.
