Default Brake light fuse keeps blowing

I was notified my urS6 brake lights were not illuminating when making a complete stop. I checked the brake light fuse and it was blown

I replaced the 10amp fuse and tested the brake lights which illuminated when I depressed the brake pedal. Once I release the brake pedal and reapply the brakes, the brake lights did not illuminate. The brake light fuse was blown again.

I proceeded to check the brake light bulbs and found one bulb was wrong. I replaced both brake light bulbs with new and re-tested.

Unfortunately, the brake light fuse keeps blowing. Today I ordered a new brake light switch and hopefully I'll have it by this weekend.

Is this a common issue on the C4 platform? Suggestions to this issue are welcomed

Thank you!

Is one of your taillights leaking? Check for a rusted light socket.

Taillights do not leak and no rusted light sockets

Default disconnect brake light sockets and reconnect one side at a time to find out which socket

needs replacing.

Default My brake light fuse was blowing a couple of months ago and the switch was the cause.

IIRC I took the old one apart and it was burnt inside.
