Default buy tires for boleros?

i'm trying to decide weather or not to bother buying tires for my boleros. A tire place around here is selling BF Goodrich tires buy 3 get one free, so i can get 4 KDW 2 for around $425. The thing is that around december or so, i'm probably going to be activated to go to Germany for 15 months. Would the tires be okay sitting in the basement for over a year? I'd have my crappy all-seasons on the car when it's sitting, so i'm not worried about flat spots.

Anyone used these tires before? the reviews seem pretty good. I want a good summer, performance tire.

link t

How long does it take before a tire develops flat spots? (if sitting in storage)

Default Put your car up on stands

If you're going away for 15 months, be sure to put your battery on a tender, Stabil in the fuel tank, put your car up on stands, and then cover it.

Default Wrap them in garbage bags, leave in a cool basement

I left 4 Nokian Hakka 2's out in a hot garage two seasons ago, they got some cracking.

Default Also, now might be a good time to sell the Boleros.

You're going to Germany, you can get the forged Boleros for cheaper then what you paid of the cast ones. Plus, you'll be sure to find another set of wheels that you will like more. It's a thought.

P.P.S. - Will you be willing to ship parts overseas ;-)

Default Store flat on its side, and a tire won't get flat spots.

If you have stored a tire on a wheel, and it is/was mounted on a car for a while without being driven(i.e., flat-spotted), there's a good trick that works most of the time. If this is the case with you, then let me know and I'll fill you in.

Default Flat spots only happen when the rites are on the car.

Or do you mean store the car on its side ;-)

Default Tires on rims, rims on car, car on ground...

Just wondering how long before I screw up the tires... I plan to jack it up, and take 1/2 the air out.

So what's the trick?
