Default C4/S4 timing problem

Hi,
My Audi`s motor is 2.2 20V Turbo, AAN.
Problem is timing marks in crankshaft. Should i trust flywheel mark or front vibration damper timing mark?
Then i set damper mark correctly flywheel mark don`t match!
SJM Autotechik article says to use flywheel mark and autodata says same.
usr4.com technical article says that cant find flywheel mark and has set with damper timing mark.....
Can be possible that timing has been incorrectly set and driven after that about 100000 km?

This think killing me ....aaarghh.

Thanks for advice.

Pete

Default I would check the key in crank sprocket

They have a tendancy to crack, allowing the crank sprocket to rotate on the crank.

Default Apparently there's a rubber piece in there.

And as the crank pulley ages, the mark on the dampener goes out of time. Trust the flywheel, it's directly bolted to the crank.
