Default Can I build an "AAN" without having an AAN? For example,....

2.5 L block from a transporter
(rods and pistons to match)
Modified 7A head from 034
(Cams ???)
EM from Javad (or real RS2)
Intake and throttle body --- scrounged AAN
Flywheel and clutch - aftermarket
MAF I have
Injectors I have
ECU I will have
Harness I will have

What else??

Default yes, BTDT

the motor I built for my 4ktq started life as an NG (10v NA 80/90q motor) short block married to a 7A head.

Thats the 'uber cheap' way to build a 20vt, since the resultant compression ratio is around 8.5:1

custom rods and pistons are an option too, of course...

Default Use 7A cams, for sure, unless you have some made, Dave.

Also, I would recommend a 7A FW as well. It's lighter than the AAN unit, not as light as an aluminum chatterbox, and fits fine with a 7A pilot bearing.

If you're going 2.5ltr, you want a GT35R or GT40/35R.

Any benefit to using the 2.4L diesel block instead of the 2.5L gas block?
