Can the serpentine belt be accesible without swinging the radiator open?

Can the serpentine belt be accesible without swinging the radiator open?

Maybe just working from the top? and maybe leave the fan blade alone too?

Yes. But you probably need a serp belt tool (long metal rod with a "hook")

Yes definately...

I removed the plasic belt cover over the PS pump and the boost crossover tube on the bottom. But then again I was stupid and let the belt shred and had to pick bits out of the pulleys.

Guess I cannot read, noticed you said top only. I used the top and bottom.
