Default Can't get pressure back into the clutch pedal

I just changed my clutch master and slave cylinder and cannot get it to build pressure. I don't have a power bleeder so I was doing it manually with another person and nothing was happening. The clutch won't build pressure and keeps falling to the floor. No fluid is coming out of the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder. The fluid level is not changing in the reservoir. tia

Default Did you check your Brake Fluid reservoir ?

First check for blockages on the clutch line coming from reservoir. I was surprised to find some idiot had used the reservoir from an Automatic on my car and the so the clutch line appeared ok but actually the nipple was completely sealed off.

Check it's fuller than full before starting bleed.
It will drain while bleeding so you have to keep topping it up so it remains full and doesn't suck air into clutch line.

You can disconnect the line from the master to slave to verify it's coming out of the first pump.

You'll have to pressurize the brake fluid reservoir somehow, I made me a special cap from an older audi and stick a peace of hose into it.

Default Is that title a question or a statement ?

If (and *only if*) you disconnect the clutch line from the reservoir and discover like I did that the clutch line was sealed: then yes, just cut off the sealed bit at the end of the nipple with scissors and re-attach.

Default No you do not have to pressurize the reservoir. But that does help make it go quicker

And never use more than 5~10 psi or youll split the reservoir.

Default Looks like I was not the only one to get a Auto reservoir from the factory

Hanz & Franz must have had too much pilsner for lunch that day.

Default No, mine was right. I converted my 97' A8 automatic to manual, that's why I had to cut it open.
