I know there were a few people before talking about installing one in their URS, but has anyone followed up?
One of my friends just crushed the LCD on their HP DV2602CA... so I stepped up to the plate and bought it for all of $150
. I'm thinking small inverter ($50) + laptop w/ bluetooth($150) + external microphone for hands free cell phone ($50) + GPS software and dongle ($200) + PCMCIA/External sound card ($100) + VAG Scanner ($?) + TFT touchscreen LCD in dash ($250) + backup camera ($Free). Giggity?
The potential for having a drive in movie theater by plugging a projector into the laptop, placing it on the hood and watching a movie with surround sound is almost too cool/geeky to be possible.

I have been wanting to do this for some time but havent had the funds to do it. There are a few nice little things you can get to help like shut down controllers and what not. The lilliput screens are pretty nice and probably the way to go. Just make sure your screen is TFT.

http://www.mp3car.com/</a
