I am shopping for a 6 speed across the pond (CRB - yeah, good luck or a CGR - more likely) and stumbled upon this helpful site. It says there for example that all the cgrs are using the wide 1st gear??? Or am I missing something?
Oh and BTW I am aiming at getting a tranny here for less than $2.2K shipping included. Would an EDU be a better (cheaper) choice?
Thanks for your input

BUT, the tranny you get out of the deal will be a very good piece.
And, since it's rebuilt, essentially new. You want the diesel 6th in it? I'd guess they'd throw that in there.

I called, spoke to Jarrett and he said that basically:
#1 they don't convert 5 to 6 spds
#2 he said I'm better off by getting a B5S4 6tranny instead of rebuilding the 5 spd at their shop.
I might have spoke to the wrong person?

Definitely go the EDU route if you are going to put some strain on your driveline. It may have been my CGR that you saw for sale (if it was the one on AudiFans), but I got rid of it to go the EDU route. That was mostly due to the power I plan on pushing through the drive line, though the EDU is a much more robust transmission.
Javad @ 034 is making over 700 WHP with a basically stock EDU transmission.
