Default Could you give an approx. cost, for rebuild and 6th gear addition?

ISTR $3k, but is that correct, or am I way wrong?

Default $2899 plus freight (and core if you need one sent before we get yours)

Add about $400 for the extra parts needed to add 6th gear to a 5 speed.

Default you told him you had a B5 A4 box? We can turn any 01E into a 6 speed.

Must have been some miscommunication.

Default Thanks for the info, and Whew!

I knew I pulled that dollar figure from somewhere. Good to know it wasn't from my @$$.

BTW, that's a reasonable price for a better-than-new tranny.

Final question - what's the approx turnaround on that job, from the time you get it until the time it gets back on the truck?

Default Which I'd rather have than a EDU/DSY. Better all around, IMO.

Well, you have to pay more for it, but usually, that's how stuff works - you want better, you pay more.

Default on 6 speeds we have them ready to go - 5spd to 6spd conversions take about 1-2 weeks

because the input shafts and 1st gear are smaller (I dont have them on the shelf)

Default

Any options for a taller 6th gear than stock 01E-DSY?

Default From my old-man, pink-shirt-wearing memory...

... the very tall 6th from a TDI can be put in, with a ratio like 0.49, or something crazy like that.

The elektro.com page on the 01E gives a range of 6th ratios available that presumably would fit.

Default Glad to see you guys support the urS! I met Paul at Nalley on Saturday...

Along with Stasis A4 driver Chip Herr. You need to check his ID... he said he's been racing for 9 years. That guy looks like he could be 16!

Just kidding... he was really super cool. Was impressed with the development on that race car. I'm thinking I want that for my next track toy!

BTW, That 6-speed rebuild conversion sounds like an awsome option!!!
