I'm in the Northeast and so I'm wondering what other people do when starting their car in sub freezing temps - especially after it's been sitting all night or longer.
Fire up and go?
Let it idle for X minutes then go?
Let it idle for a few mins, rev it a few times?
What?
Why?
Just curious.

i wait for my brake light to go off (10-15 seconds). I don't go over 3,000 rpms or any boost until the oil gets up to the first tick mark, by that time, the coolant is up to temp.

No seriously like the other guys have said...just start her up and drive. Try to stay out of the boost till she gets warm. I ususally wait till I start to see some upward activty on the oil and coolant temps before getting in any boost above 10 PSI. But easier said then done w/ my car ![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
IF it is really cold outside maybe let her warm up for 5 minutes.

I let the car warm up for 15 minutes while I shower and dress. I figure it's the least of two evils

Engine, tranny, and other misc parts should be warmed up and used together. Unless it's frickin' freezing (0 F or colder), I drive shortly after starting the car, but go easy.
