Default Is the community loaner J-Hose available??

I am finally fed up and ready to tackle fixing my Pentosin leak. I would like to avoid downtime by utilizing the loaner J-Hose, but don't know if it is available.

I believe imquattro had it last.......

Default I have one but it leaks like a sieve... not much of a loaner..unless you are part of that camp which

thinks that it's appropriate for a substitute item to be as or more faulty than your failing one.

I've been too lazy & busy to chase after having the J-hose rebuilt...sorry, I've failed the community

I will be sending it out to be rebuilt, so I guess it doesn't matter if it leaks.

that's the justification for *that* camp of people, to which I don't belong...

Maybe the hose got mixed up along the way & someone sent out their leaker?

Default Wasn't that the point...

You get a leaker from the community, have it repaired and then install it and forward your leaker to the next person in need.
I'm sure that's what was described when the thought of a community j-hose was discussed way back when.

That is indeed the point.

Default Sounds kinda dumb. The better way would be to have a *GOOD* one as a loaner.

Or one that leaked only slightly.

The loaner makes its way around, while folks have theirs repaired. Or, really, the way it works is that you get the good, repaired one as the loaner, you put it on and keep it. The one you take off you have repaired on your dime. Then, when the call goes out for the loaner, you ship your fixed one.

Default *Ding!*

for us logical people this is how it should go down.

the only unfortunate part is that initially someone would have to front cash + a spare hose to get it fixed; in order to have 2...one that goes back in the car and the second as a workable core/loaner.

I'd totally be the one to do this, except I don't have the luxury of taking the S4 off-line at the moment. Maybe once the summer comes and I put her away for a couple months, then I could, or else if somehow I get a 3rd hose.. send 2 down, keep one on car. But now we're just getting cRaZY!

Default Then you would have to do the job twice. Wasting time and 11s

Its better to send the hose out and have it rebuilt, then install it on the car.
