Corey (02ALMSTT), thanks for the heads up on the tires...
Greg is a nice guy, good price on the tires, and they were at my door in 2 days. Would buy from him again.
The Gislavads are amazing in the snow. 205/50/16 on my Fuchs.

My Pleasure..Greg is a Fantastic guy. On the Tread Patterns being similar...
Gislaved, General, and about 6 other tire names / mfg's are all owned by the same parent company (Continental Int. I believe.)
They share Molds on superseded tire models. The Nordfrost 3's have been superseded by the Nordfrost 5's, so the tread molds are available to other mfg's.
What they do not share are the rubber compounds and construction techniques.
So while a tread pattern on two tires may be 90% identical, the construction and chemical makeup of the tires will be very different and give varying degrees of performance.
(This is how Greg explained it me when I asked him about the General Alpin's which also have the same tread pattern as the Nordfrost 3's.)
I also noted that some sizes are not available in the other mfg's lineups. IE..I could not get the 205/50/16 in a General, I would have had to go to the 205/60/16 which would be throwing the Speedo off about 10%. (If my quick goat math was right...lol.)

Out of curiosity, why 205/50/16?...
The stock tire size for a C4 is:
195/65/15
or 205/55/16
or 225/50/16.
With 205/50/16 the speedo reads 3.2% too fast. And 205/60/16 would read 3.2% too slow.

I have the stock all-season/snow size (215/60-15) on my S6 right now and it cuts the snow...
...like a champ! No drama, no ABS, no nothing. Yes skinnier is better, but, a lot has to do with the tire as well.
And I personally like keeping stock sizes that were spec'd for the vehicle.

Greg only had 205/50/16 or 205/60/16. No 55's (remember it was End of year clearance.)
and If I had my choice I'd drop all the way to a 195 width for snow tires.

Yeah, I've ran 225 (no-seasons) the past 2 winters and they have been fine...
But now that I'm getting a dedicated set of snows and summers, no reason not to go skinnier for the winter.
These tires are awesome, best snow tire I've driven on any vehicle. It's amazing how much control I have of this 2ton tank now!
