Default Yes, I've heard that. And I'll be sure to follow that law to the LETTER.

I can't promise you I won't abuse 2nd and 3rd though

Is there one defining feature? I'm sure I can ID it myself if I know what I'm looking for.

Default Here's a couple shots for comparison

This is an RS2 manifold. Notice how high the wastegate mount is above the runners and all the runners meet at the collector at the turbo flange.

Another small shot of the RS2. You can really see how high the wastegate sits on this manifold relative to the runners.

This is stock with a shorter mount for the wastegate and the 1 and 5 cylinders going to the wastegate while 2,3 & 4 go to the collector at the turbo flange. This shot is upside down as it would be mounted in the car.

Default The main difference is the 1 and 5 pipes flow into the turbo collector.

Instead of flowing into the wastegate path...WTF was Audi thinking?

Default Most time is spent with the waste gate open and dumping exhaust around the turbo

I bet the stock manifold is more efficient off boost. The RS2 gives no consideration to the exhaust path off boost and goes for the most efficient path to deliver exhaust gasses to the turbine.

Default Ok, I'll look. the picture I have doesn't really show from that side.

I'm pretty sure it looked like the 1 and 5 were going into the turbo directly.

what a weird setup for the stock piece... why are they only powering the turbo with 3 cylinders!?

It's an RS2 EM. Julian verified it for me.
