Default Does anyone have the part number for the metal female pin that goes into the POS and Power end of

the coil connectors? I was looking at the 1.8 coil part numbers but i dont want to order the wrong thing.

If the new coil (on back order at kingsborne) really does have 4 feet of wire on it as per this post. I could put in all new wire and crimp new ends on without soldering anything.

My only problem is getting the old pins out of the connectors without breaking them. Dave refers to this in this link but the pin connectors have to tabs that "pop" into place in the plastic connectors and wont come out without breaking. Anyone who has gotten them out without having to buy new connectors help would be appreciated.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/243420.phtml</a

Get a pin removal tool. They don't *have* to break.

Default OK, dave did you reuse your pins from your oem coil pack? in your post here

you say you can take them out with two paper clips. god knows i tried this, its just the plastic is SO brittle.

if i can reuse the pins i will, i just cant find the part number for the OEM pins (if there even is one)

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/83216.phtml</a

Default No, I kept it intact. Still is. I have the connectors, grommets and pins in my parts bin at home.

I will post the PNs when I get home. If you have a friend like Kate that you can talk to, follow the link below.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/229864.phtml</a

Default Thank you Dave. Ill get a removal tool if i can find one in stock.

this one is out of stock. I dont know if those ends are long enough anyway.

i hope the wires are infact 4 feet. i dont care if i have to solder it would just be nice to replace the entire wire to rule it out as well.

Soldering isn't the end of the world, neither is crimping in a splice. (But pin to pin is better)

Default Female and male pin numbers

Recognized that these pins come as pigtails, i.e. two connectors, already crimped onto a wire (you need to make a splice):

Female: 000 979 141 (easier to install than 133A)

Male: 000 979 233 (fits in three pin power connector housing 443 906 247)

I just tried a 233 pin in the 247 housing and was able to extract it with a bent paper clip.

Default Awesome Dave. I think when its on the bench ill be able to get the pin out OK. it was hard with

the POS connector from the ECU while it was on the car. You bend the paper clip to resemble a pair of tweezers? then pinch the clip inside the connector while pulling the wire?

-Update to come in 2 weeks after install (fingers crossed).

Just open up one leg of the paper clip to get a poker. Just like opening a laptop CD drive.
