Default Here... No need for door panel removal!

Pop the cover of the handle off with a pick from the hole in the bottom of the cover. Unscrew the 2 phillips head screws. Pull the handle off, if it didn't already fall. Then pull the door handle trim piece out... You'll see that the hook came free from the chrome handle. Unhook the retainer clip, DON'T LOOSE it. pull the cable and put it back in the hole. Then make sure you put the clip back in the exact same spot. Reassemble.

Default or the cable could be off at the door latch end (like it was in my case)

and will require the door card to come off, and some fine work with a mirror and someone without fat fingers to put it back on. I was sucessfull after several attemps. Be sure to lube up the latch as that is the reason the cable comes off in the first place, it gets sticky and the spring does not return the cable lever allowing the cable to come off.

Default My symptom happened to me twice this winter... I don't think the body shop put it

back together properly last February, when I had a full body repaint done.
