has anybody used any of the rs2 exhaust manifolds from ebay on there s6 and are they a direct bolt on. what kind of performance upgrade goes with it( ex. does it run a little cooler under hood or make boost quicker). just trying to do some research thanks for any replies

Apparently they can crack after a few years, and are not as good as the ORIGINAL RS2 manifolds, which go for $600+. That said, they are cheap and I'd consider looking into them for a boost in performance.

The one's on eBay are very likely Chinese or Indian copies, cast with nodular cast iron, nothing like the proper high nickel content OE RS2 manifolds. They *might* work for a while but there is a lot of work and cost (bolts and nuts) to install them, the conventional wisdom says "Pass". An original RS2 manifold costs in the order of $1000 plus. The best cast EM for this application is the Wagner RS2 EVO EM that Wagner Engineering sells (also 034 sells as a Wagner dealer). Around $1200 IIRC. The Wagner RS2 EVO manifold flows better than the OE RS2 EM and even better than the OE Audi Sport quattro manifold.

You get what you pay for.

If you aren't going for a larger than stock turbo, your need for an upgraded EM is minimal to none.

i bought temp a ebay one rs2 manifold made by STP seem to work fine cooler and better flow deff than the stock, but as i said this is only on for like 5 more months for me, so that said if i had to keep it for ever would go with the oem rs2 manifold, but yet dont see anything wrong with this one, still your choice

The STR (not STP) manifold is typically sold as an aftermarket EM rather than as an "original" RS2 manifold like the Chinese/Indian copies are.

was the stp em a direct bolt in or did you have trouble with the install.

I'de spend the extra bucks and get the rs2, ive been runnin a ceramic coated oe rs2 em for over 10 years on my s4 with no probs at all. I dont trust off brand cast mani's , although I've heard good things about the wagner and it can be had for roughly the same price. Time will tell.

I haven't tried any of those 4 banger stuff. But I have tried those with expansion joints and seems to hold up well so far.

http://dailydriventj.com/mfr.shtml <- My write up on ebay manifold replacement.

I got over 100 pics in the write up.
