Engine almost back together but bottom turbo oil line is

The top oil line was tight but it reached OK, and the water lines are fine. I'm thinking that I could have an aluminum (or steel) one inch thick spacer machined (same shape as the gasket. Any other suggestions? What kind of pressure is in that line?

check the 'clocking' of your turbo. the oil drain line should be pointing pretty much straight down.. maybe thats why its not lined up for you? the rs2 manifold should not affect oil line fitment, since the turbo placement should be the same as the stock EM.

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/34876/130_0668_00.jpg"></center><p>I even checked with the original turbo before I installed it, but when a4quattro mentioned the clocking I looked at it again now that it was installed and it was just off a little bit. That little bit made the difference. Re-adjusted the "clocking" and now it fits nicely. Good call.

manifold. If it was a bit cockeyed to one direction it'd be clocked wrong. Since the oil line comes out from the turbo some distance, a very small error on how the turbo is hooked up cause a noticeable differance where the line connects to the block.
