Further ideas for developing a Corvette coil-based HO ignition system

Sorry for coming late to the party (busy weekend)

I'll check to see what coils I have tonight when I get home. I have a feeling they are D581s.
I found my harnesses through ebay, basically the factory harness with 4 plugs for around 20 bucks at the time. I bought the second hardness with 4 coils for $60. The picture I posted was my orginal plan for mounting but the #1 and #2 coils are damn close to the hood and the LS1 wires were a bit tight to get full seat.
My new plan is to mount them on the firewall (no to crazy about the strut bar mount of the other HO coils I've seen) and possibly run some 89-91 Toyata Supra wires (half the cost of 7A wires and NGK sells 8mm in blue for under 50). I bought some Advance Auto cheapy wires to test fit (35 bucks) but I just need to get the time to sort it out. I'll at least try to test fit the wires this week but the bracket my have to wait a bit as I'm swamped till Monday.

NP, I didn't exactly give you any warning. As for mounting, I think the point is to get them away
from the head (and the heat). I like your prices and I like the Supra wire info.
Keep us posted as you make progress.

I for got to mention that the only snag in mounting the coils
In a line on two pieces of threaded rod is that it interfers with the coil to plug wire so I have to come up with a work around. It may be 3 seperate brackets with 2 coils to bracket and one all by it's self.
I found the supra wires as my family has owned at least one Toyota since 1972 which included a 89 Cressida (same motor and non Turbo Surpa) and my dad still had some spare wires laying around (thankfully he is a pack rat with car parts). I noted the Cressida wires had short wire cap and knew that the 3b top of plug to VC top is 1 3/4" (thanks Austin) and I assume the AAN is very close to that. Anyway I hope to check this tonight or tomorrow and confirm. Length wise the wires are pretty long.

I think you have the LS1 coils (see photo inside). I am talking the LS2 coils.

The LS1 coil is on the left and, yes, there is a problem with the two pipe mounting idea because the input connector would be in the way. HOWEVER, the LS2 and LS2/Yukon in the middle and right side of the photo would have no such problems.
