got my car back from audiconnection.... they did a good job on all the things they repaired... but found a new problems that i don't have time to take care of (had to get the car out of the shop)
seems like my clutch is on the go and should get a new clutch right away...
so... question: i looked on ecs and saw a sachs kit for about 300, and nopi has the centerforce for 350... suggestion??
question 2: i'll be driving from va to ca next week... would love to be able to stop by a stop on the way to get the clutch repaired (while i take a driving break) any suggestions? i'm probably taking the southern route so any suggestions in like kansas, tennessee... even colorado would be great! thought about driving up north to the IL/WI area, but that's gonna add another 1000 mile to my trip.....

Can't get anymore convenient than that
They're very good too.
I recommend buying a sachs clutch from s-cars.org's parts direct program. Ask darin.

You could have a good time in Chicago if you know where to go, but anywhere in the city, parking will be a bitch.
If you *really* want to goto WI, you need to head north to Door County, although right now is the "off" season for that area, I don't know what you will find.
The Midwest is going to be boring as ****.
I would reccomend taking I70 through Colorado during the daylight hours, as that will give you the best scenery.
I would reccomend stopping at Arches Nat'l park, Kolob Canyons, and Zion Nat'l park along your way.
And I hope you have Nokian WR V rated snow tires.
I've driven across the continent several times, last summer I drove from LA to Minneapolis in about 30 hours of road time, 47 hours actual time.

You should have 2 cans of Fix a flat.
Your wheel lugs should be torqued to 90ft.lbs to ensure easy removal if you have to.
Fresh oil change before you leave, new air filter.
Your brake pads and brake fluid should be in good shape for mountain driving.
Tires all inflated properly.
Extra warm clothing, some extra food.

there are some awesome things to do in WI this time of year.. lots of outdoors stuff, etc. Also, Milwaukee has one of the best bar scenes in the country. I'd stay away from Chicago, it's a bitch to get around in and it's uber-expensive considering what you get in return (bad parking, rude drivers, AND cold weather?)

You would'nt be the first person to have a clutch finish itself off in the mountains. Also if you found a garage you like and trust you should have them do it. Trust me on this, I have owned a auto repair shop for twenty years.
