help -- having trouble removing the instrument cluster

<i>3. Remove the (2) screws from underneath the lower trim strip and slide it to the left to remove (there is a pin on the right side that you much clear).
4. Remove the (3) Phillips screws that retain the instrument display into the dash.
5. <b>Pull the display out so that you can access the wiring connectors on the back side.</b></i>
Using the search I found the above instructions. Having trouble with step #5. I can't get the display to come out far enough to even see the wiring connectors, much less disconnect them. The fact that I can only grip it at the bottom seems to wedge it at the top middle. Can't rotate it by pulling the right side out either.
Any suggestions?

I was afraid I'd break something if I pulled too hard. But with some serious pulling it came right out. Towel on steering column = good advice.
