Default My solution : undo cam sprocket bolt while timing belt is on with crank lock <ducks>

For those that think this is sacrillege... keep in mind there is no VAG crank lock tool on the B5 V6. There is only an VAG tool to lock the Cam sprockets allowing the Crank pully bolt to be removed i.e. only the timing belt tension to hold the pulley in place.

Default there is noooo way i'll be doing that since I'm not changing the t-belt

I had a t-belt blow up on my 8v VW 4cyl, and that was expensive enough to fix with only 4 bent vales. no way I'm risking this motor!

Default that's the perfect reason TO change the belt

a new belt is less likely to break, n'est pas?
