Default Not worthless unless you plan to use them on a Urs6.

The urs6 already has red backlighing. It has a red filter instead of the amber filter of the 100, urs4, V8, 200, etc. The Urs4 is a differant story...

Anybody can comment about anything that is posted. That's how it works.

Doesn't it sound like he's done it from reading his post? (and done it more than once???)

Default Read my post... He has a Urs6.

The filter does do most of the work. However, the red bulb overpowers most of the amber filter and you end up with a nice red cluster.

2.0W bulbs must be used with the red bulb covers too.

Default The "red" comes from a film on the gauge faces themselves...

no red bulbs, no LED's. There is no difference between the S4 and S6 gauge's in this respect.

The 2w bulb upgrade is definitely worth it but IME the bulb condoms are worthless.

Default Ok, go ahead and explain this then:-)

Red bulb covers on the aux. gauges of my 90. The picture doesn't do it justice, they are a lot more red than that.

The Urs4, 100, 90, V8, etc. all use amber filters so it applies to all of them. The Urs6/A6 uses a red filter so the red condoms do nothing.

Default Looks like you forgot to condom the oil pressure gauge.....unless

you purposely did that to show the contrast. Perhaps I learned something new today. I have never before heard that one of the model changes made in the 95 year was a red filter in the IC housing from an amber one used in 92-94 cars.

I have a 90 V8 as well as the S6 and red condoms didn't do ****e for that car either except dim the display.

Maybe I'm colorblind or the bulb condoms I ordered were crap?
