Default Yeah, plus the fact that you can disable the alarm using the key in the door is a big weakness

I bet they could use a screwdriver to pop out the door lock and short the "everything's okay, unlock the car and disarm the alarm" wire in 30 seconds.

I like skolnick's POS idea, or maybe put something in series with the ECU fuse/breaker.

Default The ECU fuse is a good idea. I blew that replacing my MAF

Luckily I had read Jimmy Pribble's website so I didn't have to ask the forum what to do and nobody had to heckle me with a STFA. I realized that when I was trying to start the car, the check engine light did not come on so the car did not see the ECU. Replaced the fuse and problem solved.

Default My immobilizer works fine

I had two replacement keys cut at my Audi dealer, but I didn't have the immobiliser set to use them..

I tried them both for a laugh, the engine would start then cut out after 10 seconds.

I had to go back to the dealer and spend a fortune for them to get the codes from Audi in Germany then get them in the car so the keys now work..
