For those that don't know - RS2'd car... just looking for a good performance replacement, but nothing too crazy....
SPEC
SOUTHBEND
CENTERFORCE
I've heard good things about all three - from what I've seen, the Centerforce seems to wear out rather quickly, but I'm not sure whether that was just a couple of isolated cases....so...please debate.

but no firsthand knowledge.
I have used Clutchnet and like them a lot. We (Felix's rally Coupe)ran one in a turbo'd 7A at Maine Forest with about 350HP and it was fine.

<again>. I might like to try SPEC too in the S4 when the time comes. keeping in mind that I'm not pushing huge amounts of power in either Audi.

I won't be surprised if it doesn't last 140k+ miles like the stock clutch. Mostly because it's now a lot more fun to launch the car...

Really I think they are both great clutches. I ran the Centerforce for 45K miles and had no issues. I am now running a Southbend Stage 4 clutch. The clutch feel is very simular in terms of effort. However the Southbend is more grabby then the Centerforce was. I wouldnt say it like a drag on/off clutch..but just more grabby in general. I also feel that it can hold more power then the Centerforce did..but have yet to really flog it hard as still breaking it in. In terms of Spec..I have no experiance and Javad seems to really like them. And obviously they can hold the power that 034efi makes w/ their cars. However there have been a few Support complaints here in the Rocky Mountains to the Spec customer support, totally unrelated to 034, that are outstanding so...that is about all I know.

The Centerforce will do an excellent job for RS2 levels of performance and give a very stock like feel. It will not last very long, 25,000 - 50,000 miles or so, at 400 hp+, BTDT with my own and Dave Dawson's heavily modded urS4s. I had 50,000 miles on my Centerforce and it was toast when I did the initial stroker motor build. Dave lost his after about 25,000 miles and a few nights at the drags. Cody and my buddy Will Griffin have Southbend OFE clutches with aluminum flywheels. I haven't driven Cody's car but I have driven Will's 3071 equipped Canadian 96 S6. It felt smooth and the effort was very similar to my old Centerforce. Will loves his SB. On my stroker motor I run a custom Southbend that is good for 800 ft/lbs of torque. Its very streetable with about 30% more pedal force than my Centerforce but somewhat short of a worn stock clutch. It takes more pedal force but its not grabby. I've driven 2 different stage 3 Specs and they were both VERY grabby. In my youth, I ran a 65 425hp 396 Vette that had a Scheiffer clutch. That sukka was tough to drive. The Specs aren't that bad but they do come off and then on rather quickly. Great for the racetrack but tough on the street. That's all I know about clutches for the urS4/6.

but it hasn't stopped me from picking up a stage 3+. I just hope I don't have the same problems
