Default Related Q: How much for a clutch job?

Just the parts for a DIY guy, OE-type clutch replacement. The '92 S4 I'm considering sounds like it will soon need a clutch.

Default Uprated clutch and pressure plate was ~$350, ancillaries maybe another $100.

You can get a new flywheel for another $350.

Doing a quattro transmission is not much fun though...

Default I actually found the timing belt job on my A6 (12v engine) to be quite pleasant...

Access was excellent, no big surprises, etc.

Overall the C4 S cars are not bad to work on. The clutch job was the first really difficult job I've done.

Default That's pretty rare.

Of course, after my old 944 Turbo, everything else is a vacation. The engineers that designed that car were sadists, pure and simple.
