Default That's the Cam Position Sensor connector(IIRC). The (broken) male connector is part of the CPS

and normally not a separate replacement part.

However, it is available. Just requires buying Kate a nice dinner and a movie first to soften her up.

The female harness plug is 443 906 233.

Next time, take your screw driver out of the photo. It hides too much and adds nothing.

Default That's the CPS connector, here is the cable I used to fix mine

<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v48/chrisanjenn/Audi%20S4/?action=view¤t=IMG_1253Medium.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/chrisanjenn/Audi%20S4/IMG_1253Medium.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Plug is the same as a knock sensor on a VW/Audi/BMW, quick junk yard dive should yield
a cable you can splice onto the end of your
CPS.

BUT

You might want to consider replacing the CPS
sensor while you're at it.

I do have a couple cables, I can give you one
if you can't find one.

Default He clearly states female plug is good, male is toast.

"The female harness plug is 443 906 233."

Won't help him at all.... :-)

Default Kate was easy tonight. Male 3 pin to mate with 443 906 233 is 443 906 247. Good luck.

Kate says look on EL 1993 9 71 Illustration 970-40 if you don't believe me.

Default DUH. I gave that so somebody else could pick up the lead. See above. Male = 443 906 247

And when you get to know Kate, maybe you can find the part numbers instead and I can criticize (sp) you for taking more than 3 minutes.

Are you saying I need a Cam Position Sensor? Any reasonable source?

I will go to the junk yard tomorrow. Are the wires color coded?

The CPS wires are color coded and if you look at the plug the pins are numbered.
