I just can't figure it out, Lexus IS300 owners that I run into think that car is quick. My buddy had one and dumped it for a 03 S6 after riding in my old S4. He let me drive it one time and it was really not what I expected. Driven perfectly it's a high 6 to low 7 second car and I think that's being nice.
On the way back from an appointment. Charcoal IS is next to me at a light (I like that color). This road has a light every 1/4 mile and we hit every single red. The first time he pulls up, starts to rev. Guess he saw the wheels/brakes and figured I'd be game. Well, what the heck. Every single time was the same. Green, I'm doing an "more aggressive" street start (far from a good launch) and by the time I hit second at around 5K, I'm already by and just keep walking away easily to about 65. Next light, same thing. Guy was trying to, it was an auto and he was brake torqueing it.
Last time I gave him a car before I really started moving and still came out ahead.
Message to IS300 owners. Unless you have modifyed that car with a turbo/supercharger/NOS, except the fact that you're going to come up short on most occasions. 8^) It's OK.

But agree w/o Turbo they shouldnt be raced against a turbo'ed car. However w/ a turbo they can be very fast..believe it is the same engine as the Supra.

Not sure if it will lower the boost threshold at all but will help w/ power. Think the kits are around 300-400 bucks? Anyone out there doing it yet? Heard a couple of guys on the s-cars/audifans board doing something..but not sure on the results

But I'm doing the full-boat injector cycled WI, more $$$ than the straight WI.
I am doing the FMIC like you said Cody, to hopefully lower boost thresholds (3,400 to 3,000, fingers crossed). I have the bumper cut, and 1/2 the bracketry complete. I am using a Supra Spearco Race IC with the endtanks flipped (in and out opposite). Was out buying tubing today. I will pic and delineate the process for those interested...
I'm doing the WI to limit detonation from fuel issues. Here in Cali, 91oct is the best I can get outside of 100 racegas.
Hope to get it all done for the Mihnea Cali-Tuning day sometime on July.
