So got into the cold car this morning and smelled coolant...turn the vents on and there's coolant vapor coming out. I ended up losing most of my tank driving home. Facts:
-I cant find any coolant in the engine bay.
-the coolant line that is under the IM (to the turbo) has some corrosion on both ends, looks old, does not look like it leaks.
-no noticable coolant in the footwell.
-the coolant smell/vapor seems to only come when the blower is on.
-I cant see any coolant under the plenum tray.
is this my heater core? Any BTDTs on tracking a leak like this or removing a heater core? Any help is appreciated!

so check those hoses really good that are under the plenum cover, drivers side of the blower motor. could easily be heater core though.

had a '98 2.8L Avant with similar symptoms. heater control valve was under the hood, below cowl cover (or whatever it is called... the black plastic piece just forward of the windshield), on the driver's side. plastic pos had split in half.
