Insurance to cover the scrape down the left side: $4200. My part to paint hood, front bumper, right side, roof, trunk and rear bumper, including 2 new doors and prep work: $7070. Seems like a lot of money to me. Any thoughts? I'm not paying that. I think i'll pull the car and prep it myself and have someone spray it.

I could buy a good S6 for that price.....or a compressor, paint gun, paint, dual action air sander, bigger intercooler, another car to drive while I paint, take a vacation........

then you may be looking at the wrong shop!
If this is the kind of shop where one goes to paint a vintage Shelby Cobra, then maybe you set the bar too high

Unless it looks like glass and there isn't a single fish eye, run, or flaw at all even at the edges. Mine has all that covered, and still was only $3k.
