Just tried to install the EFI coil kit. Just discovered my 97 car is different. :-(
The connections are different on my car! I have no 4 pin connectors! GAAAHHHH! Now I have to put my car back together with the old coils before dark, it's sitting disabled on a downtown street!
Why is my life so difficult?

Aren't the connectors on the other side of the POSs the 4 pin ones? I think that is where they go.
I have never installed a coil kit but that would make sense because those are the ones coming form the ECU right?

Stock POSs are not required with the Delphi D585 coils EFI (Marc S) is using.
The LS2 type D585 coils have a built in POS in each coil. It's the "ignitor" in this diagram:

It's not different. You just don't realize the POSs have both a 4 pin and a 3 pin end.
