I just picked up a 94 s4 last week. The keyless entry was not working at all. I replaced the batteries in the key which did nothing. I tried doing the programming sequence (1 key in ignition, lock vehicle with other key, and press button). All this did was sound the horn briefly after I hit the button. The key would still not lock/unlock the doors. The system must work as I got a horn sound after pressing the remote button after trying to program. What can I do to try to get this system working again???

The way I reset mine was to hold both buttons down (for 2 or 3 seconds) at the same time next to the door. I tried the other thing too and it did nothing for me.

Do you mean hold the remote button down and lock the door and hold it in the lock position at the same time?
