Default Looking for more coil input. I've narrowed it to two possible options, 034 VS EFI Express.

Both solutions are $425 dollars US. I'm no longer looking at the high output 034 option, as it will cost me $1060 Canadian in the end.

Option 1:

EFI Express coil kit using LS2 coils.

<a href="http://www.efiexpress.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=18&osCsid=70f4ebc9d66 70ea025963d3b54e680b1">EFI Solution</a>

Option 2:

034 Coil Pack Harness with "OEM supplied Hitachi/Beru" coils (through 034).

<a href="http://www.034motorsport.com/product_info.php?products_id=450">034 Harness Solution</a>

<a href="http://www.034motorsport.com/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_description=1 &keywords=06B+905+115R&x=17&y=13">034 Coil Solution</a>

Note that the coil linked above is not the OEM coil that would be included. Dan from 034 described the OEM one to me in an e-mail, saying that it's higher quality than the linked Subaru coil, but offering it at the same price. I've asked Dan for clarification on what these "OEM" coils are. 1.8T?

So, the EFI solution will have LS2 coils mounted externally with heatsinks on them. The 034 solution will have "OEM" coils without heatsinks installed inside under the coil cover where it gets hot. Something like this, but with the cover installed:

So what do you guys think? What gives me a better long term reliability and power, the LS2 coils externally mounted or the "OEM" coils internally mounted? Will the LS2 coils have issues with dirt and water with them being exposed? Will the 034 coils die faster due to heat?

Thanks.

Default If you wanted to go 1.8t coil packs go with the Apikol complete kit. (Link inside)

$389 prepped coils, 20 min installation.

Otherwise, EFI express LS2 coil kit.<ul><li><a href="https://www.apikol.com/#Products,Engine,21">Click here</a></li></ul>

Default That solution from EFIE sounds like a heck of a deal.

I'd love to see some folks running RS2+ set-ups run this thing to see if it's up to the task.

Stock (unchipped) I think the 1.8T set-up will work just fine for most folks. For folks pushing 30psi with monster blowers, the OEM set-up is probably best.

Inbetween? The question is yet to be answered, IMO.

I'll bet the LS2 coils work just fine with big boost and hp. Nice heat sinks. Mount away from heat.

Default The 034 coil looks like Audi # 077 905 115S which

I am told is an S4 V8 and Q7 coil. I am using these with the 034 update harness for about 1300 miles now with no issue. And it required no trimming to fit. I have not put the coil cover back on yet.
