I don?t know the difference between Methanol and alcohool. Here in Brazil we have gasoline and alcohool as fuel. To use alcohool we just need to change the chip. The only problem is that there is water in the alcohool and in time it will rust the exhaust. People change for a stainless steel exhaust.
The formula to see if its better to fill with alcohool or gas is: Alcohool price =< gas price * 0.70 .

Re: You're confused. The alcohol isn't used as a fuel.
Here in Brazil we have cars from the factory that use alcohol fuel. You have alcohol pumps in the gas station. We use alcohol as fuel since 1979. And now you have the factories producing flex fuel cars, you can use gasoline and or alcohol, and the mixture can be anything from 100% alcohol to 100% gasoline. I am talking about GM,FORD,VW,FIAT,RENAULT,PEUGEOT, ect...
