Default More broken H&R springs...

My brother sent me an email today. His car was making a clunking noise in the front. He brought it to his favorite mechanic and both front springs are broken. They had about 77k miles on them.

Default i'm glad i didn't buy H&Rs, with so many horror stories of them breaking

i even talked to a local UrS4 owner here who had a broken spring. totally unacceptable.

Default Had a spring break as wel.......

remove the clear plastic cover( you'll know what i mean once you look at it) it will trap water & salt and deteriorate up until it snaps.

Default 2nd. I'll never buy H&Rs again. I bought a used set, and they refused to honor the warranty

because I wasn't the original owner, but what really pi$$ed me off is that they refused to just sell me a pair of fronts, which was all I needed.

In retrospect, I'm probably better off- I managed to find a set of 92 springs, which I really like. If I'd managed to get another pair of fronts, they'd probably have broken again by now.

Default Consider contacting Hypercoil for an Eibach type spring , custom.

Just thought of this.. Since Hypercoil winds springs to spec.. why don't you just duplicate the Eibach or 1992 S4 spring constants?

Agree, to HELL with H&R after the warranty crap I want thru last winter. ANd it was a TUV rated spring..
