They did not uses the braided steal lines that run to the fuel rail just new rubber lines, any reason for this?

Yes, the original braided lines and the connectors at the ends, were the cause of the leaks and the recall. Hence all rubber (appearing) replacement lines.

The recall involved the flexible fuel lines at the filter, which was attached to the hard line across the engine bay to the flexible lines to the fuel rail.

The recall did not involve the flexible lines to the fuel rail.

Whats the deal with the recalls. I take it you get free parts replacement and labor. But is it a USA only thing or worldwide?
