Default My headlights aren't working.... Broken headlight switch?

The headlights in my car aren't working, but the amber parking lights and taillights are working just fine. High beams work when the switch is pulled in to 'flash', but not when pushed to the 'permanent' on position. I'm guessing I have a broken switch. Any thoughts?

FYI, I have 35W xenons on the car.

Default Yes. Those are the symptoms of a failed switch...

I have the switch R&R down to 45 minutes. 50 minutes in the dark.

Is everything else working? Wipers, AC, etc.

Yep, and the fuses for the headlights are intact.

Default So it's not an ignition switch.

As long as both bulbs aren't burned out, that leaves the headlight switch, as the others say.

Default Must be an epidemic. I just did this fix not too long ago.

And a guy on the 100/A6 forum with a '97 A6 had the same problem.

STFA for "headlight switch repair". I'm always mindful of making something easy to search for when I post something of substance.

The car starts up fine. I'm going to take apart the switch tomorrow and see if I can save $180
