Default My take on the 1.9 bar spring....

Many of us have posted results with the 1.9bar wastegate spring.

Several have NOT posted good results with RS2 and the spring.

First off, my stock spring had been tweaked to hell. When removing it, it was very weak. I unscrewed the adjuster all the way back and put the new spring in.

Wow. What a difference. First off, I'm a cynical bastard when it comes to doing anything to my car and posting the results. This made a difference.

I got no bucking, no hesitation, no stammer or studder anywhere in the powerband. Boost came on much sooner and the pull in 2nd and 3rd gear, to me, became much better.

I know others have had various results with the spring, and I can't quite figure out why that would be, considering alot of us (like Dave and I) are pretty much using the same set up, give or take a few small differences. I'm not sure if the size of my FMIC has made any difference, or what it might be, but I've experienced no drawbacks to the spring.

Thumbs up from me.

Oh, and it's an 034 spring too - just to note.

Default My result with MTM 1+ and FMIC was poor...

Very pronounced pinging, on 94.5 octane no less. I only drove it that way for a few minutes, so I suppose the ECU might adapt (I don't know if there is a fixup table for the WGFV or not) but I wasn't prepared to drive it like that for long enough to see.

Default Nearly crapped my pants. Put my foot down, neck snapped as gauge zipped off the scale (>30 psi)

That was when I decided I really had to install a MBC ;-)

I think a lot of folks just popped the spring in without backing off the adjustment.

Default 3rd. Now I run the 1.9bar spring with no threads showing (backed all the way out)

and I like it that way.
