Default Need help with getting perches off of the rear shocks

Do I have to hit them with a large object?

I took the spring off now I need to get the perch off of the shock onto the new one...? How?

Default OK Mike - you have to be a little more specific here...

A perch is a rough fish here in MN. (Some think right tasty!)(Idiots!)

My rears were easy - 1 hr per side.

Simply watch the alignment on things - - and it's done! (The top be pointing this - a - way - the bottom that a way. No slop. got it?)

Default Alright...

<IMG SRc="http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/projectcars/0303scc_projectwrx05_s.jpg">

See on this picture where the bottom of the spring sits? Well our rear suspension is set up a similar way. I neet to move that thing (the bottom perch) onto my new shock. That way the spring can be sandwiched between that and the top part.

Default OK - I am going from a (faulty) memory here from a year ago

And - I remember you did this 6 mo ago (when you carved the upper nut off - and re - theaded the top of the shock shaft with an SAE die...))

But your pictures look like my 80 front struts - NOT an S car rear!

To get 'em (the lower spring - er - perch) off of the old - whack 'em with a hammer (up!)

I am not really understanding your problem!

(And the Miller's have come for a visit, too!)
